National Executives

National Executives runs the day-to-day affairs of the party and selects candidates for various electorates and provincial seats in general elections. They also do party fundraising and other activities to sustain the party.

These are the current team headed by Mr. Wera Mori.

Mr. Wera Mori

He is the founding National President of the People’s Party. He is one of the leading Papua New Guinean Geologist by profession and a prominent businessman. Mori comes from Chuave District in the Simbu Province and the managing director of EMR Limited a company that specializes in mineral explorations, consultants and geotechnical services. He has played leading roles in geotechnical services to major and minor mining activities in the country, Pacific including Australia. Mori holds a post graduate diploma in Geology after graduating from with the Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Papua New Guinea.

Mr. Douglas Makana Ivarato

He is the National Vice President of the Party and comes from Okapa in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. He is a career coffee industry man, working in various capacities within the industry as an officer, consultant and partner in the business. Ivarato was the President of the party Eastern Highlands Provincial Branch after elected as Deputy President during the party’s national convention in Wabag, Enga Province in April 2008.

Mr. Willie Palme

He is the General Secretary of People’s Party and Journalist by profession. He comes from Kiam in Kudjip, South Waghi of the newly created Jiwaka Province of Papua New Guinea. Palme has been in the Journalism professional as news reporter, media officer, public relations officer in various capacities from both the public and private sector for the last 14 years. He holds a bachelors degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University and one of the prominent media personalities in the country.

Mr. Jack Naiyep

He is the National Treasurer of People’s Party and an Accountant by profession. He comes from Kombiam in the Enga Province and a businessman owning a private accounting firm in Papua New Guinea that provides accounting and business advisory services. Naiyep holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the University of Papua New Guinea. 

Mr. Steven Davis

He is a co-founding member of People’s Party and still active a committee member. He plays a key role in the party to provide advice of policy matters, legal and leads a team of Papua New Guinean professional to guide the party. Davis is the principal of Stevens Lawyers and private practicing law firm in the country and comes from Esela’a in the Milne Bay Province. He holds a bachelor of Law at the University of Papua New Guinea.
